My name is George Bacon, and I'm the person responsible for the creation of the Six Heroes wine, and its relationship with the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes. In 2004, when forming the company, obtaining licenses, and creating the wine brand label, the emotionally difficult part for me was my realization that Six Heroes is the carrier of a very moving and humanitarian message to our citizens.

I created the Six Heroes Collectable Presentation Case wherein the brushed aluminum capsule cones over the bottles' necks when viewed from the back are meant to resemble artillery shells, which acknowledges the atrocity of war. When you remove a capsule cone and place the enclosed white candle in it, it becomes a candle holder honoring our service people who have defended our country. In my research on the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes, I found out just how financially difficult it is for a service person to adjust to, and transition into society and a career when they have lost an arm, leg, or have other significant physical or emotional disabilities. The additional expenses of everyday living become significant.

The truth is (and I have been as guilty as the rest of our citizens) that we emotionally have a difficult time dealing with the recognition of their need and to realize the ability we have to financially help our recently disabled service people. So I decided to make it real simple and create a wine brand for all the wine-loving people in America who like to have a good glass of wine, or want to simply collect a part of a future, classic, American wine.
